The Warren Laboratory has had a long-standing interest in fragile X syndrome, the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability. From the original gene identification to biochemistry to cell biology to neurobiology, the lab had contributed to an ever increasing understanding of the pathophysiology that has led to drug screens and current clinical trials. In addition, the laboratory more recently has turned its attention also to the genetic and epigenetic influences on autism, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
